"FROM THE WEST BANK TO THE WEST BANK ON HUDSON RIVER YASER BASHA DELICIOUS JOURNEY" That's what Head Line News described Al-basha History. Yaser Basha ,the founder of Albasha Restaurant, arrived from West Bank in 1980 seeking a better life. He found it on a Ferry Boat. More specially the 1905 Binghamton Ferry Boat ,transformed into a stationary restaurant docked on Hudson River off Edgewater. The Owner at that time was Nelson Gross, Republican Chairman for New Jersey. Impressed by Basha eagerness to learn, Gross gave him a job. Basha remained on board for 11 years , rose to Rank Chef and became fully versedin Italian and American Cuisine. During those years Bash a dream of owning a restaurant became clearer and it was realized Seven Years Ago with Albasha Restaurant on 1076 Main Street in Paterson.
